T43 should come with Intervideo WinDVD for DVD playback.

If your T43 comes with DVD drive originally, IBM has WinDVD pre-installed. Find Restore CDs and install it.

Otherwise, you will have to buy somewhere else to view DVD.

For your information, I donot like Windows Media Center.

Thx. found it. I must have been editing my post at the same time you were responding. Thanks for the guidance. Yes, I do feel foolish to have been stumped by such a simple task. But the regular DVD palyer stumps me too..... :D

Or just get the free (and open-source) media player VLC. WinDVD is quite bad with its annoying protection and screenshot disabling nonsense. Ditch!

Oh, so cool. I like this VLC. I will try it.

Pramit, I like your blog. Do you also use the default wordpress or a heavily modified one?

Also, do you have any problem with Dreamhost? I heard mixed opinions about that company.
