system updater 2.0 HELP: need model programmed in pc

The pc i have currently is a t41 2373-xjx. I have upgraded the board to a t42p board 2373-kyu. How can I update the model of the laptop on the board so i can use system updater correctly to download my pm drivers and everything else all in one fell swoop?

You need to use the IBM Hardware Maintenance Diskette to update the Universally Unique Identifier number. Read the Hardware Maintenance Manual for more info. IBM does not sell this diskette to the general public. There are some old versions available on the web, and there are some threads on this in the forums.

I tried that but it asked me to update the serial number or the uui but I couldn’t set it. Any other ideas? i tried version 1.69 and 1.60 of the ibm hardware maintenance disks,
