Help New Hard Drive: System Update 2? what versions?

Hey. I recently had my HD repaired by IBM so I it was rescued and recoved. I get on and I remember that there is no more IBM. So I go straight to the site to look for software installer. But instead I get System Update 2. I run it and it asks me to update like 12 things. I thought it would be like 30. Where are the updates for those little programs like Record Now and all those other things I can't remember. Where is the bluetooth updates. Since last Augst when i had my T43 there have been like four bluetooth updates. MOST importantly. Why can't I see the versions of all my programs like I could do in the old software installers?

If System Update 2, or Software Installer isn't doing it for you, then do the following. While online to the internet, press the blue Access IBM button to open Access IBM help. Go to Get Help & Support > Download & update > Device drivers and software downloads. Download what you want, double-click on the file to extract it's contents, then run Software Installer, but uncheck the box to Retrieve latest information on the internet. It will find the updates on your hard drive and install them.

Alternatively, if you do not use Software Installer, you can double-click on setup.exe in the folder where the software package was extracted to to install the software manually (you have to pay attention when you first extract the files). To be safe, you should read the .txt file for the software package before manually installing it in case there are some special steps to take. This is often the case with Video drivers - and others.

Thanks. But how do I see all my current versions like I could before in Software installer?

I went to the website through the access IBm route and found the software installer. I am confused system update did not replace Software Installer? SI had a new release the 10th but the system updates came out on the 14th?
If that is true they really need to updtate that system update. It seems like a Mirosoft product.

Software Installer is still available for download and many users have had better experiences using this instead of System Update... including myself.
