T42 help needed

after i reinstalled windows and run the software installer and installed all the programs except the rescue/recovery one, i still can get my touch pad to scroll when sliding up down the right side of the touch pad. also the middle blue button doesn't work neither.

i installed ultranav and the wizard but i can't find it anywhere in windows to execute it.

another thing is the thinkvantage active protection also dissapeared even though i installed the drivers.

also when i press the volume keys or the brightness keys, there should be a sign coming out from the display to show the status right? this has gone too

what's wrong with my system??

did you look in control panel, mouse and see if there is a tab for the ultra nav. You may need to run the exe file to install it if you have a non ibm version of XP. For the On Screen Dislplay go to thinkpad configuration and at the top you'll see display there you'll find on screen display, if it's not there you need to install the hotkey features.

If you did a factory reninstall from the service partition or the CD's, i'd run it again.

yea i lookd almost everywhere and it doesn't show any ultranav on the control panel -> mouse. but i installed the ultranav from lenovo website though.. still doesn't show up.

where's the thinkpad configuration you said to check the display?
