Restore factory settings OR reinstall windows

#1 Post by eirikur » Mon Jul 31, 2006 5:18 am

Hi.

I want to setup windows again on my thinkpad t40p.

Which would you rather recommend?

1. Use restore factory settings option

2. Reinstall windows with "Sticky: How to Fresh Install Win XP (Step-by-Step Guide)"

Thanks,
Eiríkur

I always prefer the "fresh xp install" after that get software installer and let it do the rest.

I just delete all partitions and start from scratch. :)

Kind of depends on how skilled you are, a fresh in stall requires a little work after the fact (installing drivers/software), a factory install means you start computing shortly thereafter.
