No. I did not install any hardware or memory.
I just logged in under Administrator :(

I put off the batteries and reseat them.
I relogged in again under Administrator, and worked fine.

What happened to my T43? It is a new one and does it affect to the machine?

Try unplugging any cables plugged into the machine, pull the battery and stick it back in and try and reboot, might try safe mode.

No double posting :) . I deleted the thread you started in TP General.

I did, finally, but I am still wondering why it happened.
I am worrying something corrupted inside which I don't know.

Is there a message with the screen, have you installed any hardware, software very recently?

When you get the system going again do you get a message saying something to the effect "your system has recovered from a serious error".

No.

And since my T43 1871 was 'empty' when I bought, I am not sure whether I have complete utilities or not.

what do you mean by empty?

What I do after a blue screen is:
check any hardware i recently installed or have been using - manufacturer websites are a good source

if you can get a specific error msg reinstall the drivers for that hardware

run PC doctor

google the problem/error msg

reinstall to factory

call tech support and post a question here.

this is not all inclusive

One thing is to always install the drivers from IBM and not from Microsoft. Although i have not had a problem on my T43 yet. On a HP workstation it got stuck in a loop after several MS driver updates via windows update.
IN USA.
