T43 COMPLETE FREEZE

I just received my T43 back from IBM srevice. I had a bad hard drive. It took IBM FOUR times to install the hard drive and reinstall the system files. We finally had to install the recovery disks to get the drivers installed as they kept shipping the Laptop back without any video or graphics drivers.

Regarding the RAM. I purchased a 1 GB stick with the unit and got another 1 GB stick from Crucial. I reinstalled the additinal ram chip. Now my laptop freexes every day if I do not use it. For sure in the morning, it will be frozen . Also, the Access IBM button does nothing. To activate this I need to use the pull down menu, as the button is useless.

Have any ideas about the Freeze? Maybe I just have a lemon???

I would try out the Thinkpad without that RAM you bought and see if it stops freezing. Run a memtest with and without the RAM you bought from Crucial added.
