Hibernate => wake-up...stuck

#1 Post by Cmdr.Keen » Thu Aug 24, 2006 10:26 pm

I've searched for a bit to try and find a similar problem and thought I stumbled onto a solution here, but I wasn't able to replicate their scenario...

Here's mine: I'll hibernate (Fn + F12), sometimes on AC power, sometimes on battery, and when I try and wake it, the "bar" fills across the bottom of the screen, then just sits there with no hard drive activity (at least there's no blinking light).

I thought about disabling the Hibernation function, then defragging my drive, but WinXP tells me I don't need to. Perhaps it's lying...it's been known to do that. :roll:

Does anyone else have any ideas? Is it something simple I've overlooked?

(System in sig.)

Thanks in advance!

This happens to me once in a while as well. I'll turn it on from hibernation and the bar reaches the end and stays there. If you wait long enough though it does boot up eventually (~3min but it varies).

I suspect it may have something to do with a network connection (maybe windows or the wireless driver is waiting for something) but I've learned to put up with it
