WinDVD=BSOD

#1 Post by ParzanM » Fri Aug 25, 2006 9:39 am

Hey,
Everytime i try to launch WinDVD i get a BSOD for like 1-2 seconds max. I would post the error but I cant seem to read what the error is.

It only seems to happen after the laptop is on for and extended period of time (6+ hours) becuase after the laptop restarts i can run it and watch whatever i want. Every other program seems to work except this one. I just did my first system update about 4 days ago. Conflict with something ?

any advise would be a great help,
Thanks
Parzan

PS. I have a 512MB stick under the keyboard and a 1GB stick under the laptop. Does it use the 512MB first then move to the 1GB stick. Could it be that the 1GB(from lenovo) stick is defective? since after the restart less memory is used, so only the 512MB is in use?

Without the error it's impossible to say what the problem is... could be one of many drivers, hard drive corruption, bad RAM, malfunctioning mobo, etc. etc. All would do the same thing in the right situation.

You need to get that error message and/or check the error console for any info you can get.

Right click on my computer and select "manage", then in Event Viewer -> System view the log for fatal errors at the time of the last crash.
