fingerprint reader on T42

can a t42 that doesn't originally came with the fingerprint reader install a fingerprint reader? if so, do we only need to change the palm rest with the reader or something else must be changed too?

i have a T42 2373-JXU

You need to change the motherboard as well. It isn't worth making such an upgrade. Why not buy a new T43/T60 and sell your T42.
