What's the going price range for a good used T41p?

#1 Post by silo » Wed Sep 06, 2006 5:51 am

I've been looking on eBay and they seem pretty high, close to $900, which seems too much to me, though maybe I'm wrong.

I have a nice T23 with extra memory and a fast drive, but I'd like to get the other "p" advantages.

Thanks--

FWIW I got a T40 a few months back (still under warranty) for under $500 and I love it. The only problems I had were (1) having to reinstall XP with SP2 slipstreamed because something got munged in the million updates I needed to install, and (2) had to have the CD ROM replaced (it was flaky with CD-RWs).

I don't think I'd double (almost) the price for the added features of a T41p, if that's what they're going for.

$900 is a bit much, I would call that an upper bound for a very nicely spec'd T41p. The price should be more around $600-$750 depending on what you are looking for, especially if a T23 with extra RAM suits your needs fine now and you would like to have a T4Xp. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.
