I have a T40 running WinXP with a Cisco miniPCI card.
After having installed the mini-pci 350 Cisco WIFI-Wireless card, everything seems to run #ok :
- I have the wireless connection with my previouly installed Wireless network including my desktop+wifi router (... even if the link is not so strong),
- I can activate the link (Wifi card ON/OFF) by the Fct-F5 button
-> but the Wireless LED indicator is allways off !
I may need to install another IBM driver or application but, since my Win XP Pro SP2 is a new one (without IBM Access installed), I don't
want to install any "not usefull" application
So which one is it if I need one ?
I can add that I did'nt succeed to activate the wifi link by WinXP and I had to do it through the Cisco manager ("Aironet Client Utility"). Nor did I install IBM "Access Connection" because I feared that the 3 applications (WinXP, Cisco & Access Connection) may struggle to take the control of my Wifi card !
Thanks for any tip that could help me to get a better connection and a lit LED
PS : I found plenty of usefull information in this great forum but none for my problem
