T41p Utilities? [Title Changed]

#1 Post by Dead1nside » Tue Sep 12, 2006 12:38 pm

Hey guys,

Just got my T41p and I think it's been recovered. Which is nice since I have all the IBM tools but it's also got a lot of crud like Norton that I don't want.

Is there a way of changing me the user from "User" without having to rebuild it..? (Make a new profile and delete User's space?)

Is there a link to all the updated software etc. ?

Anything else I should know, being a new Thinkpad user?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Cheers.

Download and install software installer. It is the easiest way to update all your drivers:

Or you can pick and choose from this matrix here:

Thanks for those.

It doesn't like connecting using the network port through the port replicator II.

Sorry for all the "noob" questions.

As in changing the name? you can rename the account in Windows XP. Right click on My Computer and choose manage, go to local users and groups then users find "User" and right click and choose rename. Make sure you know the password :-) and you might get a warning about changes like this might loose access to certain things.

Thanks for trying to help, I meant renaming the user profile. I've renamed the account. But now all my stuff still is in "c:\Documents and Settings\user\" or whatever.

Cheers.

Are there any utilities that are just handy, I've heard some people talking about some centrino specific ones. But I've forgotten the names of the programs.

Thanks
