power manager and presentation director doesn't show up

my thinkpad is T43P 2668P2U with Window XP SP2.
Yesterday, my thinkpad power manager suddenly doesn't work anymore. I click the icon of show power management or any link to start it, it only starts a Rundll32.exe and nothing happens.

For presentation director, PDIRECT.EXE is running (which I can see from task manager) but no UI shows up.

updated from thinkvintage several times, uninstall and reinstall many times, nothing changes.

Anyone knows what could be the problem? Thanks.
