T42 and T43 and CPU compatibility

#1 Post by ttan98 » Thu Sep 21, 2006 12:43 am

Quick question please,

can those out there confirm the following:

T42 runs on Pentium moblie 7X5 series processor at 400FSB exclusively

and

T43 runs on P-Mobile 7X0 series processor at 533FSB exclusively.

I suspect this is not the case as some later model T42 runs at 533FSB. Is this true?

thanks

No, I don't think that's true. What motherboard (planar) FRU # would that be?

There is no later model, stock T42/p that runs with an FSB rated at 533Mhz. The 765 P-M is the Intel Chipset I have seen running at 2.1GHz in a T42p, highest CPU clock for a T42p I have seen thus far, and it had the same FSB of 400Mhz. :)

If you *really* want something like the Sonoma chipset with a 533Mhz FSB in a T42/p, your best bet would be a mobo swap between it and a T43 with the desired chipset.
