T41 fan issue

#1 Post by popcorndrink » Mon Sep 25, 2006 10:52 am

Hi guys,

Alright it seems like my laptop (T41) uses the fan all the time. I am not sure for how long it has been doing this but at least 2 weeks or so.

The temperatures are as follow:

CPU Temp: 41˚C
HD Temp: 37˚C

And my room is cool too.

Does anyone have an idea to solve this? It starts to annoy me.

And of course please let me know if you need to know anything else.

Thanks in advance

Use Thinkpad T43 Fan Control, and set it to Smart Mode.

For convenience use the Service instance, to let Windows run the program every time you start the laptop.

41C is a good CPU temperature. Did you undervolt your CPU?

I think I fixed it by making a battery scheme that enabled dynamic CPU frequencies. I did try the applet you mentioned but it crashed everytime I set it to smart mode. Kindda weird.
