Hi all,
I have a T43 and I've just installed the ThinkPad Bluetooth with enhanced data rate software. After the installation the "My bluetooth places" icon on the desktop and the "Bluetooth Configuation" icon on the Control Panel were succesfully added.
However, the bluetooth icon on the tool bar is always red and if I click on it with the right mouse button the message "bluetooth device not found" is displayed. Moreover if I doubleclick the Bluetooth Configuration on the Control Panel nothing happens.
Pressing Fn+F5 only the "Wireless Radio" is displayed (no bluetooth options). On the Thinkvantage Access connections, under tools, the "bluetooth devices" is greyed out.
I removed the software and reinstalled it several times but the behaviour was the same.
i've also installed the Widcomm_5.0.1.1400 driver as stated in some forums to try something different but the behaviour is the same, except for the fact know I can access the Bluetooth Config. On "my bluetooth places", if I click on Bluetooth config wizard or for example "show my bluetooth services" a screen pops up saying that "no local bluetooth deviced was detected".
On the device manager, under bluetooth devices, there's a "bluetooth enumerator" or something like that. There it says everything is fine (this device is working properly). At the time I installed the ThinkPad Bluetooth with enhanced data rate software the driver version was 5.0.1.3200 and now (having installed the widcomm one) the driver version is 5.0.1.1400.
Does my computer have Bluetooth built-in (I'm starting to question it) or what I'm saying makes no sense ?
Does anybody have any tips for me ?
Thank you.
Marcos.

If you posted your model number, someone could tell you. Or you could look it up yourself in Tabook. See FAQ, item #1.marcoscaccianiga wrote:Does my computer have Bluetooth built-in (I'm starting to question it) or what I'm saying makes no sense ?

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to come across harsh. Welcome.
Looking at your model number 2668-C51, that model does not come with Bluetooth. Look at the following page, and the link on it for System Service Parts.
Parts information
Product: ThinkPad T43 2668-C51
