I have updated my system with system update utility (on 2006-9-27). I have returned, to Windows after reboot (neccesery to update BIOS and Embed Chip) and discovered, that all my power manager schemes are gone.
I know this problem has been discussed here in this topic: http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?t=18823 but my problem goes a little further.
Only scheme available is "Power Source Optimized". I tried to restore registry settings but with no success.
If a new schemes are added, they wont display in schemes list. List seems to be unaffected.
The second problem is black-flicking screen when running on battery. I recognized this problem only in WinXP (in Ubuntu its ok). The screen goes randomly off for a few seconds when working and then turns back on. This is really anoying.
I wonder if all this problems are caused by a bug in a new drivers, but no new updates are available so far..
I would be greatfull for any hint or help..
