My screen blinks occasionally, I think the laptop may be overheating. I use the laptop mostly, well, on my lap in the lazy boy chair. Which is probably blocking airflow. I open the CD bay and it seems to help. I did check all drivers and did hardware tests, they are OK. I have a 128mb FIRE GL video card.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Mark

Overheating components usually result in the system crashing or shutting down automatically to avoid damage.
If the display is blinking, my first guess is that there may be a loose connection between the display and the system board.

I'd have to agree that it's probably not overheating, since that would either freeze the screen or cause corruption that would be visible. Not flickering however.

What do I remove to view the LCD connection?
I have PDF of the T43P maintenance manual - I don't need to go thru the LCD remove process - what do I remove to acccess the ribbon cable?
Thx
Mark
