Broadcom Ethernet Network Adapter Disappeared

#1 Post by jd2020 » Sat Sep 30, 2006 3:54 pm

Sometime in the past few weeks, all traces of my Broadcom Gigabit Ethernet adapter have vanished. I cannot find/install the device in Device Manager, Network Connections does not show it, nor does Access Connections. When i plug in my ethernet cable on green light goes on. Now I'm stuck with just wireless connections.

I've tried to install the IBM/Lenovo Broadcom drivers manually, with no change.

Anyone have any help?

This problem is on my T43 listed below.

No ideas out there in the thinkpads.com community?

Today, IBM suggested replacing the system board. When I got home and rebooted twice, the adapter appeared mysteriously! As happy as I am, this does not inspire confidence!

Now should I send it in or just chance it? Very strange.
