Construction quality of the T42

#1 Post by paikia » Mon Aug 23, 2004 6:39 pm

I just got my T42 2378FVU today. This is my 1st Thinkpad. I don't have another T42 to compare so I need help from current T42 owners.

If you close your notebook, bring the notebook to eye level and look at the thin side of the laptop (where you can directly see the AC power-in socket), do you notice any flex of the LCD side or the keyboard side?

My T42 shows and obvious crest on the LCD (lid) and a sag on the keyboard (bottom) side. They are not parallel of each other thus there is a gap and you can see clearly the edges of the keyboard. Its like you can't keep your lips sealed and people can see your teeth. Is this normal to anyone?
Pls help. Thanks!!!
