How to put backT40 PC Card slot door

#1 Post by Tony Chan » Sun Oct 01, 2006 1:25 am

Hi,

Don't know what happened but found the slot door came apart from my T40 and sitting in my laptop bag today. I've look around the T4x HWM but couldn't find detailed instruction to put it back.

Anyone have experinece with this ?? Do I have to disassembled the palm rest to put it back??

Help is much appreciated.

Yes you will need to remove it because there is a spring that you will need to put in place, did you found one loose in the bag too?

I **think** I've found it.. Have to really look for it as it is very small. The wire from one end is very short and the other end is longer.

I can't find any instructions on how to put it back. Anyone done it before? Is it pretty obvious once I disassemble keyboard and palm rest? Any parts I need to remove?

Thanks

This will make it more easy for you

Your machine will need to be like this:

Thanks for your reply again, Cmarti.

So where would the spring fits in? Is it very obvious once I open up the palm rest and pull out the pc card slot then? I can't find any diagrams in this area at all.

Sorry for keep asking.. I just want to gather as much info as possible before I opens my tp up. Really don't want screws and parts laying on my desk while I look all over places on how to put them back together.
