T40 Dock DVI Output Resolution Help

I purchased a Dell 2007WFP; an amazing Monitor!.

It works perfect with VGA at 1680x1050, but when i use DVI at that resolution, the screen seems to big for the monitor.

What could be causing this? I have heard that the DVI port doesnt work with all resolutions?
