ac plugged or not?

#1 Post by zaku » Sat Oct 07, 2006 12:45 am

when not using your t4x, do u leave the ac power plugged in 24/7? or better unplug it after full charge?
and is it good to always leave it at stand by instead of shutting down when not using? sometimes i noticed that when i put it on stand by, i still hear the hard disk turning. is that normal? shouldn't it turn all off??

When I turn off my ThinkPad (nominally every night) I unplug it. I don't think it will hurt to leave it plugged in, but I just like to unplug it when it is off.

I don't think your hard drive is turning while suspended. If it is really running, then the suspend isn't correct. When you suspend, shut down all active applications like Word, Outlook and so on, disconnect your active network connection, disconnect the power cord, and close the lid. The computer should beep within a second or two, go silent, and the half moon light should turn on. If that doesn't happen, it didn't suspend properly.
