Please check your System Log!

#1 Post by geobel » Tue Aug 24, 2004 2:33 pm

Haven't checked my System Log for quite a while. Now I found it is filled with one warning and windows continuously writes new ones:

\Device\ACPIEC: The embedded controller (EC) hardware returned data when none was requested. This may indicate that the BIOS is incorrectly trying to access the EC without syncronizing with the OS. The data is being ignored.

Have anybody else noticed this?

To view System Log you have to login with Administrative privileges, go to control panel/administrative tools/event viewer

Please check your System Log folks. I need to understand whether this is specific to my laptop or not before troubleshooting.

P.S. I have BIOS 3.06f and EC 3.03

Issue solved. It was hmonitor causing EC to send data. I had some old beta of hmonitor running. Do not now if current version causes the same issue. (Lazy to install and check).
