Removing bluetooth icon from tray...

#1 Post by benz » Wed Aug 25, 2004 4:10 pm

I rarely use the bluetooth feature of my thinkpad (hopefully i will have a cell phone that does in a few months, but nothing for now :(). I just installed the wireless and AC updates but since I used IBM Software Installer it showed a few other things out of date...one of then BT.

So when I restart the BT icon shows up in my tray and apparently is running a service, etc. Is there a reversable way of removing this icon and also the service from running in the background? Is it constantly scanning for devices and such or is it relatively benign? Its nothing more than a small annoyance, but if theres a quick fix to this I'd appreciate the help.

Thanks
Ben
