"tearing" problem with full screen video problems

#1 Post by skanky » Fri Oct 13, 2006 3:58 am

on my t42 (32mb radeon), using modded catalyst 5.6 drivers, there is no problem with viewing fullscreen video.

however, if i upgrade to the drivers to the latest ones offered by the system update utility, i get two sort of "tearing" lines going diagonally from lower left to upper right of the screen when theres fast panning or movement.

this also happens if i use a modded catalyst 6.9 drivers, i also get the same tearing but oddly not the 5.6 drivers.

any ideas?

main reason i ask is that my x31 wont use the modded 5.6's i have saying theres no INF or something similar.p

i have no problem using the 5.6's on the t42, but the x31 wont take the 5.6's and the later ones have the tearing problem.

just wondered if anyone else had come across a similar tearing problem.
