My brother's 15inch T42 (its just a base model 1.5 GHz, XGA) died and is now a part of my ever growning collection of computer junk. The fan starts and sometimes it runs for a minute or two then locks and sometimes I don't even get the bios screen. Its pretty much the latter now. I'm guessing it is the system board because I've reset the cpu, and memory without results.
It still has all its parts and it seems a shame to sit in the closet. So I'm looking for ideas on what to do with it.
Also, I was looking on fleabay for system boards but there are so many configurations of T42 motherboards. Will any T42 motherboard work in a 15" T42?
Thanks

Yes.dino wrote:Will any T42 motherboard work in a 15" T42?
Note: the heatsink/fan assembly comes in 2 styles ("short" vs. "long"), depending on the specific motherboard.
