Age of IBM thinkpad T40p

#1 Post by DAN-O77 » Wed Oct 18, 2006 11:19 am

Hello,
I wanted to know how old an IBM T40p thinkpad is? It's a Pentium M. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Twice as old as half its age!

Got a model number?

Got the machine in front of you? The production date is on the bottom in the model and serial number label in month/year format XX/XX.

If you still have preinstalled the Windows it came your machine:
Press the Access IBM button, in a menu somewhere there it can retrieve info about the delivery date of that machine and the expiration of the warranty.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I found it on the back by the serial number. Thanks again.

The date on the back is when it was made, the date under warranty lookup is when it was sold. How long did it set on a shelf?
