T43 Video Card in laptop failing to start with Dock II

#1 Post by atpackard » Tue Oct 24, 2006 8:33 pm

I'm trying to run my T43 with dual monitors from a Dock II. I've got the ATI Mobility X300 in the laptop and ATI Radeon 9250 installed in the Dock II.

At start up I get the following message:

ATI video bios poller client Ati2evxx.exe Application Error
The instruction at "0x00401d70" referenced memory at 0x000001b8. The memory could not be read.

When I check the devices in Computer Management it says the ATI Mobility Radeon X300 cannot start (Code 10).

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi, I have the same card running on a T42 in the dock with dual 24" monitors successfully (though see separate post for other unresolved problems). When I first installed the card I couldn't boot with the machine docked - got a blue screen half way through bootup. First I had to boot undocked, disable (or uninstall) the built-in card drivers, and reboot docked. Try that.
