Fixing a T40 with an R51 LCD panel

Will this work?
I have an R51 that drank a big cup of coffee so the mobo is fried but everything else is still good. R51 mobo's are pricey on ebay but I can get a T40 with a broken screen cheap minus hd, memory and cd drive. They both are 14 inch screens will the panels interchange?

T60 2623-D7U, 3 GB Ram.
Dual boot XP and Linux Mint.
Registered linux user #160145
