Bluetooth problem on T43p

#1 Post by manuelcapel » Mon Oct 30, 2006 3:15 am

Hello,

I just bought a used t43p 2668-WTB. I had to reinstall windows in english from scratch. Then I installed the thinkpad's software and drivers using the automatic System Update software.

Now that everythink is installed, including BIOS updates, the Bluetooth is not on the list when I press fn+F5 and therefore can't turn it on !!!!

Does anyone know what to do?

Other problems I encountered:
- Winbond trusted patform Module 1.1 installation fails
- Battery life barelly more than 2 hours
- Loud fan noise

Make sure your BT module is actually there! It could have been removed and/or swapped out for a CDC modem.

Also make sure you are loading the correct software from the driver matrix on www.lenovo.com. You may need to do a manual install of the BT software/driver first, since when it's off, it is not detected at all.

Dude,

This issue has been discussed here, try seacrhing.

The issue is from Microsoft wich overwrites the IBM's driver with Microsoft's one.

Download the software for your model from drivers and support.

Next go to C:\Windows\inf and rename the file bth.inf to something else.

Then, installe the drivers and software from ibm/lenovo.

Enjoy it!

Thanks for your reply but I tried that. I called support and it turns out that bluetooth hardware needs to be replaced.

We tried to make it run from factory settings and they realized that the system could not detect bluetooth at all because of hardware failure.

So underclocker was right it is a hardware failure and it will be replaced. They don't know if it is a problem with bluetooth itself or with motherboard. So I bought the PC to support this morning and they will fix it by the end of the week.
