Bluetooth Software Fault! Help Required

#1 Post by rscosworth » Sat Nov 04, 2006 12:39 pm

Ok guys, heres the problem

I have just bought a Sony K800i with PAN,,,

This allows me to connect over bluetooth and browse the internet through 3g broadband using the phone as a modem.

On my z60m i have an icon "My Bluetooth Places" i can pair the phone with the laptop, browse the web and more importantly use my works AT&T dialler to VPN into my works network.

On my t42 (works laptop) i have an icon "Bluetooth Places" i can pair the phone with the laptop, browse the web but when trying to use the AT&T dialler it will not connect.

When using the t42 and the usb cable for the phone the AT&T dialler works flawlessly.

This leaves me to believe there is some kind of fault with the bluetooth software on the t42, i notice that the where you search/pair the device looks rather dated compared to the z60m software, i have tried updating the drivers etc but there all at the latest level.

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there an actual card different between the z60m and the t42?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Thanks
