T43p really a noisy thing / worth the money?

Hello.
I have an offer for a new ThinkPad T43p. I read a lot of reviews and in many cases (especially in forums) people wrote that the T43 was pretty noisy and had some heat issues. I wanted to buy this notebook and now I'm wondering if it's worth the money - so are those statements reasonable?
I would get the T43p with a 2,13 GHz CPU, 1 GB RAM and SXGA Display for about 1250 Euros (about 1590 US Dollar I think). Is it worth the money or should I spend about 300 Euros more to get an T60 (without "p" but with SXGA display)? I have to mention that I don't need the power of a Core Duo for my applications - so the T43p would be just fine for me... It would be great if you could tell me what you think of this offer... Thanks!!!

IMO, T43p is definitely the 1st choice, and the price is very good as well.

The noisy fan can be controlled by the small tool found in this forum. Good luck.

Thank you very much for your answer. I think I will buy the T43p then; I was just wondering if the price is okay compared to the newer T60 models. But since I don't need the additional power of the Dual Core CPUs the T43p should be the better choice.

For that deal, I would go with the T43p as you said you don't need the extra power of Core Duo. T43's aren't inherently noisey, but that has been a general underground issue with some Thinkpads, esepcially the T4X Series.
