I have tried "TPfancontrol" running as a service, and it works great.
but I also wan't to undervolt my CPU, because I have read that a lot of you get longer battery-life by doing it.
In the fan-control thread (and the readme in TPfancontrol) I read that NHC conflicts with TPfancontrol when reading temps of the hardware.
And I really don't need all the power scheme and stuff from NCH.
So is there one software that will do both for me? or is there a CPU volt control out there that doesn't conflict with TPfancontrol service?
Thanks
Thomas
Which tools to use if I wan't to undervolt AND control fan?

In some ways, these two fundamentally conflict with each other. Undervolting the CPU reduces the heat it produces, reducing power consumption, increasing battery life and reducing "laptop" temperatures.TJMacGyver wrote:I have tried "TPfancontrol" running as a service, and it works great.

However, shutting the fan off will only make your ThinkPad more quiet. It will actually run hotter (since the fan cools it down), although it will not use more power.
Personally, I would stick with NHC. By running cooler it already reduces the fan use (my X60 rarely turns on the fan!) and the battery life and heat impacts are great. When the fan comes on, the CPU is at 55-60C, and at that point I think you really do need the fan.
