They are all great machines. If you want higher tech specs you know which one to get. But...I have a T41p and am not wanting for anything from it. You can replace the Banias processor for a Dothan as well, which pretty much gives you a T42p.

Pros for the T43p: Higher tech specs, although nothing dramatic to justify in my opinion ditching a T41p or a T42p for it. Better availability.

Pros for the T41p/T42p: No fan issues, lower temperatures, lower prices. At least in the T41p, no issues regarding the BIOS warning regarding non-supported drives as far as I know.

I would get another T41p without a doubt, it's an excellent machine.

T42p, might be the best with gets most features and doesnot have the bios or heating issues.

If you dont want fingerprint then T41p is the best..

Does the T41p support Vista? I want something that supports Vista in the future.

unless there is a huge difference in price, I'd buy the latest.
I've often bought trailing edge or the sweet spot only to upgrade later. so, I'll buy slightly older technology and then essentially waste money upgrading.

also, this machine has a 3 year warranty.

I only had a one year warranty on my A22e. I've had to replace the MB, the LCD. I upgraded the CDROM. so that "cheap" machine turned out to be expensive.

I bought this machine so I could play Second Life online. after I bought it the comments I've read in this forum indicate that the graphics card might be more suited for CAD than games, but it does a good job.

I can hear the fan, but it doesn't bother me. one of these days I'll try out one of the fan utilities.

I have only used T42 extensively for more than 2 years. No heat/noise/reliability/hardware issues at all. I can whole heartily recommend it.
