intermittent broken pixels on t40 (after repair)

Hi, this is my first post on the forum, but I had gotten the fan control utility a few months ago. anyway, here's what I'm experiencing:

every three or four days, as I'm using my laptop regularly for work and personal use, i will notice a pixel stuck on white and fear my lcd has a broken pixel. But it will last only until I shut down windows or go in and out of standby, then is gone. a few days later, another will show on another portion of the screen. It only seems to pop up after using the computer for a while. I just sent my t40 to IBM for a system board problem, and this had never occured previously. I experienced excellent service (I got it back within 48 hours), and am contemplating seeing if the screen can be replaced, but if you guys here have any other ideas, I'm interested in dipping in the knowledge base.

Welcome to the forum.

The problem you are describing is a common one. It has something to do with a driver/software issue for the ultranav.

Click the middle ultranav button and it should go away.

Additionally, it could also be a low-tolerance stuck pixel if you tried all the UltraNav Bug remedy techniques and it hasn't gone away.
