XGA display works with FireGL video in T41p

#1 Post by tselling » Wed Sep 01, 2004 11:25 am

For those of you who might be curious.... I recently tried an XGA display from a T40 on my T41p. Boots up and displays fine. Not sure why IBM doesn't sell such a combination but it does work.

thats interesting. how is the quality ? is it like a native resolution or is it interpolated like if you switch the 1400x1050-native-cards like the 9600 or the firet2 to xga, where it gets bad ?

or does anyone else tried that out ?
I know that there are some Notebooks from other brands who for example has the 9600-graphic card WITH a NATIVE res. from 1024x768. So I always thought the chips are different, but probably the native res. is only set by the monitor where the card is plugged into ????

Anyone knows about this ?

thanks
