How to reset IMB Embedded Security

#1 Post by dainova » Mon Nov 20, 2006 5:08 pm

Uff... It's my first TPad and and clicking on lock icon <IBM Client Security Password Manager> bringing me prompt to <enter paraphrase for Tony>, should be old user. I don't know any password for this system.
Is it important or how to treat this ?

I'm able to start laptop and work around without any problems, so power on login is Ok.

Also tried to play with fingerprint reader, I can delete old passport, so looks like I'm OK with this, but I can change Setting/LogOn settings, having pop-up window <IBM Imbedded Security Sybsystem enabled.. Go control panel, launch <IBM Imbedded Securty... Icon>

In control panel <IMB Embedded Security Subsystem> also requires admin password which I don't know. I still have option to get it back , will appreciate your input.

Tx all
Best
Dai

There are ways to read the EEPROM in the computer and extract the password, but I believe posting links or instructions is a violation of the forum rules.

Look around on the 'net. You'll find what you seek.
Common sense to some of us is unfortunately the higher education others strive to attain.

joester is right again, not here, it's pretty much explained in the rules of the road. This would be more of a google project.

T23 14" SXGA+/1ghz/512/40gB
