Is T43p still worth buying?

#1 Post by bonabest » Tue Nov 21, 2006 3:38 pm

Hi, Guys, just wondering is the T43p still worth buying, as the T60/T60p/T60 w/Duo Core 2 have come out for a long time?

and how much the performance difference between T43p with T60/T60p? Thanks~

By the way, it's my 1st time post in this forum :D

It all depends:

1. Will you be using the laptop to game newest games on it.
2. Need the insanely fast power of a Core Duo, Core2Duo processor
3. Is the T43p new or used? Warranty left.

Remember there's also the R, Z and X series Thinkpads. You could get a R60 or a R60e for almost the same amount of $$ invested on a T43p

I'm in Ireland, this T43p cost 1250 euro, around 1600 USD

I heard that Lenovo has made lots of new T43/T43p comes out just in November, with 'Lenovo' lable on it like the new Duo Core 2 T60/T60p

I double checked its screen resolution, just like pianowizard said, it's 1400 x 1050 ( SXGA+ ), thanks~

currently I'm looking for a new laptop for replacing my 4 year old N410c, it's still working very well, but just too old.

the price for this T43p is really attractive, where T60p double it (2500 Euro or upper), but jusr can't sure would it worth to buy now, or would be better save more money wait a few more months to get a T60p?

You can get a T60 for about $950. If you want take a risk and don't want to pay for the extended warranty, T60 is definitely a choice.

Don't by T43 or T43P, go for T60.

I got a T43P once and it is a solid machine (see my sig). But it is very very noisy and I regret that I didn't search this forum for 't43 noise' before I buy it.

So my suggestion is: search the forum about t43 and decide whether you can tolerate the noise or not.

Other than the noise factor, it is a good machine.
