I just updated a few IBM apps via the software installer, including the integrated bluetooth software and now everything's screwy.
I finally got bluetooth working again, despite none of the drivers being installed properly thus throwing Windows into a tizzy. Then my problems really started... new driver packages that had already been downloaded were not recognized (Software Installer kept re-downloading them) or were corrupt when unpacked.
Then SI simply kept crashing and freezing up my machine, requiring a hard reboot every time. It got so bad that my machine would run for less than a minute before freezing. I finally managed to uninstall SI but it seems to have left a legacy -- my machine still occasionally freezes for no apparent reason.
Anyone have any suggestions how I now go about figuring out which piece of software is causing my machine to crash, short of uninstalling them all and starting again (which is a day I don;t have)?
Is there some sort of program that will log every process, when it starts and when it stops, so I can pinpoint which is causing my machine to crash?
