make sense to get multiburner?

#1 Post by mont_boff » Thu Sep 02, 2004 6:23 am

Does purchasing the multi-burner for a T42 make any sense if you don't need to burn dvd's on the road, and you have a capable desktop computer at home? I'm likely going to be purchasing both a T42 and a dvd burner soon, either a multibay for the thinkpad or one for the desktop. I have a slight preference for having it on the laptop, but $350 is kind of steep, and I imagine that a much better one for the desktop could be bought for less.

Don't even think about the multi-burner, get a desktop one. It is much slower and far more expensive than the desktop ones. The only people who need it are those who use their laptop as a desktop (like me) and don't want an external bulky writer on their desk. I would highly recommend getting a Pioneer recorder, as I have used them for years with several disc type and never got a coaster.
