Hi,
I plan on formatting the harddrive, so I went about creating the recovery cd's. It went through the process, created the startup CD, but now it's failing when it tries to make any more cd's. I even tried rebooting and trying it again, and it's failing on the first cd. I get an error saying "data was not successfully stored on the disc currently in your drive. This disc may no longer be usable. ". Is there any way to get these recovery cd's?

If you can burn DVDs, try putting in a blank DVD instead of CD. I had a (different) problem making recovery CDs on my X40, and I got around that problem simply by using a blank DVD. It might not make a difference in your case, but it's worth a try.
