Replace T23 with T42p or T42, Iraq

#1 Post by metacolo » Thu Sep 02, 2004 8:34 am

I've got a dying 1GB/60x2 GB T23, and I'd like to buy a replacement laptop to use (then fix the t23 and keep it as a backup)

My company will spend USD 1800, and I guess I'll spend more if needed.

The question is:

Do I get a really nice 15" T42P (this mythical 2373KXU config seems best), and spend at least twice that, or do I get one of the lower end T4x with SXGA+, faste, wireless as a minimum, and save my money, then get a T42P in a few months.

I think the minimum I want is a SXGA+, decent video card, cd-rw, 1GB (could aftermarket), and 60GB.

What do you intend to use the machine for? T42p's are really intended for professional power users who need the high-end GFX chips. A mid-range T42 will meet your requirements and save you money.
