How to create recovery partition fron scratch.

#1 Post by Melvyn » Tue Nov 28, 2006 10:04 am

Hello,

I'm changing hard drive in my T42.

The old hd don't have service partition, it was full formated a long time ago. I have the RnR software downloaded from IBM site.

How can I do a new disc with the Recovery Partition working more or less as original times?

Side note:

The download size of RnR according to Software Update is 1.4GB; according to IBM's site is some less than 500MB. I downloaded this one.

Well, which other tools do I need to create the service partition?

Thank you

Did you make a backup of the service partition before you formatted the old hard disk?

If not, I don't think you can create a new recovery partition on the new hard disk, unless you get the recovery disks from someone.
