How do I verify the L2 Cache on my T42 ??

#1 Post by dht1 » Fri Sep 03, 2004 6:33 pm

On my T42, how can I get info on its L2 Cache?

In the BIOS, I see the info on the processor: Intel Pentium M 1700 but no info regarding the L2 Cache.

On line, IBM lists Thinkpads with:
Intel Pentium M 1700 with 1MB L2 Cache
and Intel Pentium M 735 1700 with 2 MB L2 Cache (which is supposed to be the processor of my T42). However, in the BIOS, I could not find any reference to 735. How can I be sure that my unit has the 735?

My question may appear odd but many years ago, I bought an IBM desktop. The store had listed the specs of the computer, including info on the cache. When I checked the BIOS, the cache's specs did not match: 256 instead of 512. Eventually, after some fuss, the store gave me an upgrade.

Thank you very much for the info. I downloaded CPU-Z and found out that indeed my processor is M 735. Thanks!
