Power manager problem

#1 Post by mbaturo » Mon Dec 04, 2006 11:47 am

hello,

I have just updated thinkpad power manager and battery maximiser on my t43, and now the power manager gauge looks somehow distorted. another thing is that sometimes when I click on it, it opens power manager, and sometimes - battery maximizer.

any solutions for this problem will be appreciated.

Was this the package?
Battery MaxiMiser and Power Management Features package v1.38.

I had the same problem, and then checked the associated text file. This package only supports Windows NT 4.0 for T43s with model numbers starting with 26xx. Here's the relevant bits:

- ThinkPad T42 (*4), T42p (*5), T43 Model 26xx (*10)
*10: Supports Windows NT 4.0 only.

Just uninstall it and all will be well - I'm sure you've probably discovered this already.

Cheers,
Rob.

That can happen even on 2000 and XP systems; an uninstall, reboot, then an install plus reboot almost always clears it up. :)

I met someone who looks a lot like you.
She does the things you do.
But she is an IBM.

Thank you! A reinstall really solves the problem :) Next time I'll have to be careful which updates to install which not :)
