LCD upgrade possible?

#1 Post by tric » Thu Dec 07, 2006 7:49 pm

Hi guys,

Just curious. I have a T43 (2686-M4U), that is 14.1" XGA (1024x768) ATI X300. Now, I'm curious if I can install a 14.1" SXGA+ (1400x1050) LCD. I understand I can't do anything with the GPU. It's embedded on the mobo. Thanks.

It's been done. I know I've read threads here on the subject.

Hi Tric,

Yes this is possible and I have done this several times, you can even get the donor part from a T42 if you have one, just make sure the P/Ns for the whole kit are matched (i.e. LCD Screen, LCD Cable, Inverter). And as some have done, you can use a T43 screen on a T42.
