new hardisk

#1 Post by mahorn » Fri Dec 08, 2006 8:19 am

I recently bought a 120GB WD hardisk for my T42 to replace the 40GB. I remember i made 6 RECOVERY DISCS after receiving the the T42 2 years back. After popping in the new hardisk i run R&R. THe program was asking to load the "last" disc but everytime i load disc #6 it still asks for it. how do i copy all my current settings and files or probably get back the factory preinstall? I'ts very frustating as i cannot work on my PC for 2 weeks now. Need help. BIG thanks.

You can alternatively install Windows from the first disc of the R&R set. You should make a bootable one using another machine with the boot sector loaded in the CDROM ISO file

Out of curiosity, what are the platter speeds (rpm) of the 40 and now the 120GB drives?
