ultranav not preventing standby

i've just discovered that using the ultranav is not preventing windows from thinking there is activity and goes to sleep.

i have set my ultranav to use only for scrolling and tap zone.

and when on battery and i'm reading a long document, i like to use the ultranav to scroll and every five minutes the t42 goes into standby because windows think there has been no activity. anybody else see this? is this a bug? or did i configure something wrong?
